SOLO TRIP
When I told you about my solo trip to Ladakh
How all of you reacted, remember?
As if I had committed a crime
Or you caught me red handed with my lover!
The expression in your eyes left me astonished
How could you go alone? You told me mockingly
As if it’s a blasphemy
To think of going anywhere alone
As if I have no right to live my life without you
When you travelled with your friends so many times
Without even letting me know
I didn’t utter a single word, didn’t stopped you
Even my own children objected to my travel
They feared my safety and ignorance of worldliness
I could not believe my own eyes
How quickly humans change for their own benefit!
But this time I was firm about my plan
My plan to travel alone, to explore beyond these four walls
Nothing could stop me from living the moments
For myself, by myself and towards a better myself.
